At Traffic Solutions we are proud to offer a fully equipped and professionally staffed Skills Training and Assessment Centre. Our aim is to deliver high quality training that meets the requirements of your workforce and the industry in which we operate.
The Training Centre is certified as a Highway Electrical Academy (HEA) Approved Training Organisation.
Our courses are delivered by a team of professional trainers who between them have over 50 years of training experience. All are qualified to a minimum standard of Cert Ed in Post Compulsory Education and Training. Each trainer holds relevant qualifications in their area of expertise, such as a HNC/HND or a Degree, and several are qualified NVQ assessors.
All of our trainers are HEA approved and are well-placed to apply their existing knowledge to provide training that meets the industry standards.
Based at Traffic Solutions’ main site in Poole, the Training Centre has five fully equipped training rooms together with outside training facilities. The purpose built centre boasts a relaxed and friendly atmosphere offering free parking onsite.
Courses can also be held at a location of your choice, such as on your own premises, providing there are a sufficient number of delegates and adequate facilities exist.
Our trainers utilise the latest learning methods, with an emphasis on a combination of classroom learning and practical hands-on training using the facilities onsite. The team produce both comprehensive training documentation and effective MS PowerPoint presentations to aid course delivery.
Certificates can be issued to delegates either for attendance or achievement if the training undertaken included assessment. The latter will carry our industry based accreditations where appropriate.
Below is just a small selection of the courses we run. For a more comprehensive overview of our courses please view/download our e-portfolio here.
We are approved by the HEA to provide training for the National Highway Sector Scheme (NHSS) and the courses below with a reference number are some of the courses we run that meet the training specifications for the scheme. To view the training specification, please click here.

Siemens has developed a concept in training that works in partnership, to deliver both the technical and health and safety needs of the traffic industry.
How it works
As part of the Training Club, with every tender and quotation from Siemens, whether it is for equipment, design or maintenance, there will be an option to purchase training credits. This is not part of the accompanying offer, but does allow the option of purchasing extra credits from capital budget, once registered with the Training Club - should funding be available. As a member of the Training Club you will receive an annual Training Credit statement showing your credits used over the period and your balance.
Simplicity
A single days training at Poole for an individual is equal to one credit. No matter what the course, the price is t he same; no matter how many people you place on a course the price per person remains the same.
Courses
Our training portfolio details in excess of 150 different courses, including manager and operator system courses, product installation courses and 1st and 2nd line maintenance courses.
We can offer training on a customers premises in England and Wales on the same basis, subject to there being at least four people booked on the course. If your required number of attendees is less than four then please contact us, as we maybe able to find others with similar needs in your area. For all external courses, 1.25 credits are required per person per day. For training held in Scotland and Northern Ireland the course tutor's flights will be charges at cost.
More information
If you're interested in finding out more about the Training Club and Training Credits, please contact Alan Pickering: alan.pickering@siemens.com 01202 782294. If you wish to register as a new member of the training club straight away you can complete the membership form by clicking here.
