System “health check”, maintenance and configuration
Urban Traffic Control and Comet tools can benefit from a regular overhaul and reconfiguration to address network issues. Siemens’ team of experts can help get the most from Siemens’ systems through an in depth strategy and operational review.
SCOOT – Surveys, configuration and validation
Making the best use of SCOOT starts from the system set-up, including well placed detection and both junction and UTC database configuration. The final requirement in the scheme is detailed on site validation work to ensure the junction is behaving optimally and to provide the sculptured effects required for maximizing the performance of a complete network and reducing stops and delays. A full portfolio of SCOOT projects covering the length and breadth of the country illustrates our expertise in this area and our SCOOT engineers are among the most esteemed in the country.
MOVA
MOVA has always provided an ideal solution for stand-alone junctions where it can limit wasted green time and work to shorten peak shoulders and adaptively optimise performance. Now software capabilities have extended to allow effective MOVA control for linked junctions, including roundabouts. Implementing MOVA requires detailed knowledge of MOVA set-up and loop placement as well as the latest configuration techniques and a thorough on site validation process. Siemens’ engineers provide a comprehensive service including loop positioning surveys (including speeds), configuration changes, dataset preparation, FAT and on street implementation. Records of the installation, including an accessible controller crib sheet, are also provided to aide future maintenance.
