Originally joining Siemens as a systems specialist for computer applications in medicine, Guenter came to Siemens in the UK in 1978, to set up the company’s CT business.

Following promotion to General Manager for cross sectional imaging products, he then spent several years in Canada as Vice President of Siemens Electric with responsibility for the Medical Systems Division.

Returning to the UK in 1994, Guenter has been chairman of AXREM, the UK trade association of X-ray manufacturers, and is currently President of the British Institute of Radiology.

Guenter obtained a masters degree in electronic engineering from Darmstadt Technische Hochschule.
