The group is cycling in aid of Helen & Douglas House, a charity supported by the business for several years and to mark 30 years of the business at the site in Oxford.
Cyclist Dan Kindness, Head of CRM and Business development at Siemens Magnet Technology, said: “We felt we would go that extra mile this year. As the majority of Siemens Magnet Technology employees enjoy pedal pushing, the idea of riding from Oxford to Paris was born. The team compromises a mix of experience and ruthless enthusiasm, as we have an eager placement student, a tri-athlete, the wise road warrior to the enthusiastic novice.”
The journey began several months ago when the team began training for the 410km journey, battling through winter and spring weather. In addition the group has visited the charity to appreciate how their efforts will be received and to push that extra 10% for when the journey gets tough.
Helen & Douglas House provides help and support for terminally ill and disabled kids and respite for their families from all around the UK.
The team comprising of: Land Ketsawang, Daniel Kindness, Edward Robson, Mike Simpkins, Les Day, Kieran McGrath, Hannah Brice, Bruce Edwards, Lee-Ann Lambert and Will Bickell (support driver), can be supported through Just Giving - http://www.justgiving.com/TeamSMT
