They include the UK headquarters of Credit Suisse First Boston in London’s Canary Wharf, two new hospitals and the BBC’s new state-of-the-art complex next door to its Television Centre in west London.
The buildings form part of the BBC’s strategy to modernise its offices and studios, making them more welcoming and attractive to staff and visitors, and flexible enough to cope with changes in technology as the organisation develops programmes and output for its digital channels.
Bovis Lend Lease commissioned Siemens to install a building management system to control the temperature in the offices and to monitor boilers, power systems and generators to help reduce energy costs.
We also fitted a full fire detection system that guarantees no false alarms – something that’s critical for the BBC and the way it works. Now finished, the building houses around 1,000 people.
| “I’ve noticed huge improvements in Siemens products in the last decade as the pace of technology increases, but the service and commitment of its people is the key differentiating factor.” |
